Sullivan County Fairgrounds & Forksville Area

    Historic/Scenic Sites, Rt. 154. Fairgrounds is between Worlds End State Park and Forksville.
Hosts Eastern Delaware Nations Pow-wow, Forksville Folk Festival, County Fair, Bowhunter’s Festival, Fall Festival and other events.

    Walking tour brochures of Forksville Borough available locally. Town includes covered bridge, one room school house building, birthplace of football great "Red" Grange.

    Rt. 154 near Forksville. Scenic overlooks, Canyon Vista and High Knob accessible by car, others by hiking. Activities include nature activities, campfire sing-alongs, nature films, swimming, hiking, picnicking (pavilions available), camping area, group camping, fishing, cross-country skiing trails, snowmobile trails, horseback riding trails. Hunting nearby. Cabin rentals available by reservation from Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Reservations for cabins can be made by calling 1-888-PA-PARKS or at www.visitPAparks.com

   Located on Rt. 487 near Lopez, the park has 13,050 acres spread out over three counties with Lake Jean as the centerpiece. Lots of hiking trails, one with numerous waterfalls and virgin timber.
Nature activities, swimming, boating (rentals available), fishing, hiking, camping, cabin rentals, ice fishing. Hunting nearby.

Loyalsock Trail
59.28 miles in length. Trail begins on Rt. 87, 9 miles north where Rt. 87 and Rt. 180 intersect in Montoursville. It ends on Rt. 220 approximately 3 miles north of Laporte. This trail follows mountain ridges and streams through the Loyalsock Creek watershed. It utilizes footpaths, abandoned railroad grades and old logging roads as it passes through Tiadaghton and Wyoming State forests and World’s End State Park. Elevations range from 665’ to 2140’. Parts of the trail are steep and rugged. Points of interest on the Loyalsock Trail: Allegehny Ridge, Smith’s Knob, Kettle Creek Vista, Dutter Run Falls, High Knob Vista, Loyalsock Canyon Vista, World’s End State Park, High Rock Vista, Alpine Falls, Sones Pond ( a mountaintop pond ), Beaver Dam, The Haystacks (bedrock stream eroded into haystack shapes making the stream into a maze), Dutchman’s Falls.

Eagles Mere
A Victorian Era clock is the centerpiece of Eagles Mere Village. Much of the architecture throughout the village dates from the Victorian Era.

Art, Antique and Crafts shows grace the village green. Concerts and Performing Arts are featured in the DeWire Center.
    Cottage rentals are available on or near the lake. Waterboat taxi service available, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling. Nature Conservancy hosts young people’s nature activities and adult hikes.
