Location
Sullivan County is in Endless Mountains Region in the Northeastern section of Pennsylvania. It lies south of Bradford County; east of Lycoming; north of Luzerne; west of Wyoming.

        U.S. Routes 87, 220, 154, 487 & 42 crisscross the county. Airport access is 40 miles away in Montoursville, at Williamsport Regional Airport. Bus service is available in Williamsport.
Laporte, County Seat
        County Comissioner’s office, Office of Planning and Development, and the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce are located in the Historic Sullivan County Courthouse.
Employment
     Many county residents are employed locally in agriculture, forestry, mining, construction, tourism, light manufacturing, retailing, real estate, health services, education, public service, banking, insurance, advertising, and publishing. Others commute to Williamsport, Towanda, Mehoopany and other nearby towns. Current labor force is approximately 3,000.
Agriculture 
         Dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, potatoes, oats, wheat, maple syrup and related products, honey, Christmas trees, forest harvesting.
Manufactering 
        Pallets, lumber, wood veneer, log homes, wood chips, saw-logs for export.
Services 
       Service businesses include two nursing home and a growing number of personal care facilities.
Construction 
       New seasonal & residential homes, new and expanding businesses have resulted in a mini-boom in construction. As a result local contractor suppliers are prospering.
Business
        A mix of wholesale, retail, visitor and service oriented businesses
Arts and Crafts 
      A growing number of artists, crafts people and writers reside and work in Sullivan County. Their work is shown at local festivals, art shows, and featured by The Sullivan County Council on the Arts.
