The county has one school district comprised of two elementary schools and one high school.

Turnpike Elementary School is in Mildred, Sullivan County Elementary School and Sullivan County High School are in Laporte. District offices are in Dushore.

The district is 100% rural. Approximate enrollment averages less than 1,000 students. Staff and

administrators total under 100.

Approximately 50% of students attend college following graduation. 10-12% seek careers in military service.

Distance learning and technology instruction is offered.

High school colors are red and white, mascot is the Griffen.

Sports include soccer, basketball, baseball, golf and wrestling.
